Jose Antonio Ochoa (Mexico City, 1990) Since a very young age, he has been interested in art; in 2009, he obtained a scholarship that allowed him to realize his studies in art. In 2010, he travelled to Chicago (USA) to participate in a variety of courses at the American Academy of Art. In 2011 he moved to Seville to commence his degree in Fine Arts. It was there that he received fundamental academic formation in Art. In 2013 he obtained a scholarship to study at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, graduating in Fine Arts two years later from that Faculty. Although his artistic focus centred on painting, he has also worked in the realm of sculpture. He has presented a diverse set of expositions on museums and galleries around the world, in places such as London, Helsinki, Chicago, Madrid, Seville, Valencia, Zaragoza, Logroño, Mexico City and Querétaro. In 2018 he was awarded the XXI Mainel Foundation Painting Award. He has also been selected to exhibit his work in various art competitions, including the BP Portrait Award, the BMW Painting Prize, the Mainel Foundation Painting Prize and the Young Painter Prize of IberCaja, among others. Currently, his works are held in important art collections like Kaluz Museum (Mexico City) and MEAM European Museum of Modern Art and other art collections in Mexico, USA, Canada, Israel, Nigeria, UK, Holland, Finland, and Spain.
