Kokil is a London based portraiture and figurative artist who started training at a very young age. She grew up in India and spent some of her early years at a boarding school in Dehra Doon. Her time and experience there shaped and enhanced her creative practice. She regularly trained in art, music, dance and drama which set strong foundations for her as an artist. Her initial art training was focussed on portraiture and figurative art. However, she later developed an interest in architecture and interiors, therefore, decided to study Architectural Technology at the University of Westminster in London. After graduating in 2008, she worked on various Architectural projects in the Education, Retail and Housing sector in the U.K. while developing her own studio practice on the side. It wasn't until 2013 that she decided to put everything aside and purely focus on painting. Learning and exploring the human form is one of her greatest passions. She gets to fulfil this through drawings and paintings, exploring the sophistication, complexity and poetry of the human form.
